Brothers of Iota-Phi Zeta,

It is with deep gratitude and genuine excitement that I write to you as the newly elected President of the Iota-Phi Zeta Alumni Association. I am truly honored to serve our brotherhood at such a pivotal and promising moment in our Zeta’s history.

First and foremost, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our outgoing leadership—especially Jonathan Bandy (IPZ 763)—for his persistence and steady leadership in navigating and overcoming countless obstacles to get the Lambda Chi Alpha flag placed back at High Point University. His efforts, along with the dedication and vision of those who served alongside him, have brought us to where we are today. Because of their work, Iota-Phi Zeta has achieved milestones that deserve to be both celebrated and remembered.

As we begin a new year, we also enter a new phase for the Alumni Association. I am incredibly grateful to the alumni who have stepped up to be part of this organization, and I am excited about the opportunity to bring even more brothers back to campus and back into fellowship with one another. Moving forward, our focus will be partnership—supporting both the undergraduate chapter and our alumni, young and old.

Having multiple generations of brothers together on campus to celebrate our 70th Anniversary was a milestone in itself. Since then, the Alumni Association has remained active and visible. Thanks to the generosity of alumni like Norris Woody (IPZ 384), we now have a branded tent for tailgates and recruitment events so students and alumni can easily find us. Under the leadership of our Treasurer, Gary Van Landingham (IPZ 363), we will soon begin a campaign to replace chapter composites that have been lost over the years and hang them proudly on our chapter house walls. And in anticipation of our return to campus, Gary fully restored the ceramic Coat of Arms. These efforts are just the beginning, but they offer a glimpse into the momentum we are building.

This past fall, the Associate Chapter (Colony), under the advising of John Hepburn (BXZ 189) and the Alumni Advisory Board initiated Iota-Phi Zeta 983—placing us on the cusp of initiating Iota-Phi Zeta 1000. This is a powerful testament to the strength and legacy of Lambda Chi Alpha at High Point University and to the work started 72 years ago by our Founding Fathers. This is another huge milestone for our Zeta and we will want as many as can to be present for that initiation. The Associate Chapter has set an ambitious goal of meeting chartering standards by September of this year, but they will need our full support to make that happen. This includes securing a full set of ritual equipment, reaching 45 undergraduate members, and building a complete Alumni Advisory Board. If successful, the chapter will receive formal recognition from the University, Lambda Chi Alpha will officially return, and our beloved LCA will return to the Greek Village. Accomplishing this within a year is virtually unheard of—but it reflects our renewed commitment to excellence, accountability, and brotherhood.

As we celebrate how far we have come, we also welcome a new leadership board ready to build on this strong foundation. The future of Iota-Phi Zeta is bright, and our vision is clear: to deepen alumni engagement, support undergraduate success, and ensure this chapter thrives for generations to come.

None of this—past, present, or future—is possible without you. Our success depends on the continued investment of our alumni through your time, talent, and resources. Whether through mentorship, attending events, or supporting our initiatives, your involvement truly makes a difference.

Please be on the lookout for more information in the coming weeks regarding Spring Initiation, High Point University Homecoming this fall, and additional alumni events. I also encourage you to reach out to me or any board member with questions or ideas as we continue advancing our mission.

Thank you for your continued belief in Iota-Phi Zeta and in Lambda Chi Alpha. I look forward to working alongside each of you as we write the next chapter of our shared legacy.

Yours in ZAX,

George Taylor (IPZ 758)
President
Iota-Phi Zeta Alumni Association
